I am looking for a date of death, burial information and/or tombstone photo, and information on his wives and children.
Here's what I have. Levi W. Keely was born about 1818 in Chester County, PA. His parents were Matthias Keeley and Mary Ann King. His mother died in 1823 leaving 5 children and his father remarried. With his second wife, Rebecca Evans, Matthias Keeley had 7 more children.
Levi's mother Mary Ann King was the daughter of Conrad King and Catherine Wagonseller. There is a family history book about the Wagonsellers that has the following information about Levi:
"Levi Keely moved to California soon after the discovery of gold and owned an extensive fruit farm. He married a woman out West with whom he had two children. All are dead."
Here's the timeline I have for him: 1850: he is in LaPorte, Indiana with a presumed wife Charlotte H. 1851 (Aug): He is named as part of a group of overland immigrants that arrived in Placerville, CA (L.W. Keeley of Laporte, IND) 1860: he is living in Tuolumne, CA; occupation is miner 1870: he is living in Tuolumne, CA at the residence of his half-brother Conrad and Conrad's family 1880: he is married to Isabell C. and living in Shaw's Flat Presumably he died between 1880 and 1900.
The first wife, Charlotte H., was born about 1823 in New York. She is still in LaPorte county, Indiana in 1860, and then I have no more record of her.
The second wife, Isabelle C., was born about 1820 in Maine. My only information on her is from the 1880 census.
Any further information would be much appreciated.
