The current info on my Keeling ancestry follows, beginning with my g-grandmother and working backwards:
Mary Ann Keeling, Born abt. 1844, England; Married 18 Nov 1866 to Richard Perkins in St. Peter's Church, Bayswater, Middlesex, England; Immigration shows she arrived at the Port of New York on 7 Sep 1872 aboard the Abyssinia w/3 children (Emma, my grandfather Charles R, & Eleanor Perkins); Died 9 June 1866 in Olean, Cattaraugus County, NY.
Parents of Mary Ann Keeling, my g-g-grandparents: William Keeling, Born abt. 1820, Oxford, England; Married 4 Dec 1841 to Emma Taylor (Cookham, Berkshire); Occupation was a boot & shoe maker; Residences from UK census shows they lived at: 19 Walmer Terrace, Kensington, Middlesex/London in 1871; 5 Church St., Windsor, Berkshire in 1881; and in 1901, William was a widow & inmate at the Maidenhead Union Workhouse, Berkshire, England. It's believed that William also had a son, William (my g-grandmother's brother), born abt. 1853 in Kensington; have been unsuccessful in tracing him.
Father of William Keeling, my g-g-g-grandfather: Ralph Keeling is shown as the father of my William on his marriage record to Emma Taylor in 1841 (her father's name was Benjamin Taylor). This is as far as I've been able to go.
If any of these names or places match with other Keeling researchers, please contact me...I'm looking forward to hearing from you! Happy hunting, Kay Barritt
