There was a Lawrence KENON (probably Keenan) who was listed as a member of Capt. Piggot's Company in the 1st Regiment of the Militia forthe County of St. Clair (Illinois), on April 26, 1790. [Edward G. Mason (Editor). EARLY CHICAGO AND ILLINOIS. Chicago: Fergus Printing Co., 1890, pp. 213-214.) He was likely the same Lawrence KEENON who claimed 400 acres of land in the District of Kaskaskia, Illinois, in 1811. He died in 1815 and his land was sold at auction for taxes due. (Index to Raymond H. Hammes Collection. Illinois Pre-Statehood Land Records, 1776-1816. Microfilm Roll 543598, Vol. VI, Kaskia Record Book, pp. 224, 323, 324. Monroe County Library, Waterloo, Illinois.)This Lawrence Keenan may have been part of the Clark Expedition.
The lineage of this Lawrence Keenan, et. al., has not been identified. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
