I have a small paper cutting from a very old newspaper given to me by an old aunt. It reads as follows:
quote The mausoleum of HENRY KEEP,at Watertow... (the end of this word is torn off) New York, is unique in its way. From a description of it in an American paper we learn that it has stained glass windows -" a noteworthy innovation in sepulchral architecture" - on one of which Mr.KEEP is represented, together with an open Bible, impersonations of Hope and Fidelity, and the Michigan Souther Railway depot in Chicago. unquote
My mother's maiden name was Keep and apparently Henry Keep was a relation who went to America but I have no further information.
If anyone can throw any light on the above rather intriguing paper cutting I would be very grateful.
