Hi Phyllis,
I have your Eoline as 'Ealine' Kierstead m. James LeBaron Flewelling. I have a tentative note that she might be a daughter Joseph and Mary Kierstead in the 1851 census of Division 1, Kingston Parish, Kings Co., NB. Joseph Kierstead was a farmer/proprietor, a Loyalist descendant, b. ca. 1809; I also have a note (probably from the Kingston Parish Anglican Church burial records) that he died 12JAN1878, and is buried in Kingston. The children listed in the 1851 census included:
James A. Kierstead b. ca. 1839
Stephen P. Kierstead b. ca. 1841
Esther Kierstead b. ca. 1842
Mary J. Kierstead b. ca. 1843
Eliza A. Kierstead b. ca. 1845
George H. Kierstead b. ca. 1849
For James LeBaron Flewelling I have that ca. 1851 (1871 census, Kingston Parish, age 19, clerk, Church of England), baptized Kingston 29JUN1851 (most likely by one of the three generations of Scovils who were rectors there), and was the son of Merritt Wetmore and Margaret Ann (Flewelling) Flewelling. I have a note that he had no children, and if that is incorrect, I would be interested in being set straight.
My interest is the Flewellings and descendants and can offer more about them.
Thomas
