I'm writing to say that I found Terry Davis's message of 8-28-01 very interesting and that I posted it on our Kalloch Family website with a link back to this forum. (I didn't realize that there were so many spelling variations of our name until recently).
My name is Ken Kalloch, my ancestor Finley Killough while living in Nova Scotia in 1745 decided to change his name back to the Scottish spelling "Kelloch," then over the next couple generations of his Maine descendants the name evolved to some other variations, Kalloch, Kellar, Keller, etc. The rest of Finley's family moved on to Pennsylvania, then succeeding generations moved South and West across the Country, and along the way some other spelling variations of Killough came about. Their history is told in the Killough/Kellough Family genealogy book by Zora Killough Cunningham.
