So that would make you my second cousin! My grandfather is Jessie Kelman's son, William Kelman Keagy...who has gone by Kelman since he was a baby. He turned 99 this past February. :) That would be your uncle.
Do you have an e-mail address? It may be easier to e-mail you.
I just unraveled a few mysteries this past week. One being this: David Kelman married a woman, Leah Caroline Markel, in Omaha, Nebraska, 7 years before he married my great-great grandmother. I am pretty sure this is correct because it lists his parents as Alexander Kelman and Elizabeth McKenzie from Scotland, and his age as 26 – which fits with the year he was born. I still have to confirm this. It says he was living in Rock Island, Illinois.
I just found out his father’s name this week, and the maiden name of his mother. They both immigrated to Ohio from Scotland. I know David’s mother as Elizabeth McGregor. She remarried in Ohio and moved with the McGregors (her husband had children from a previous marriage) and her children to Astoria. I have been to the huge house in Astoria where they lived, and where Jessie married Roy Keagy. There is a woman living in the house now, who I believe to be a relation, and great or great-great grandchildren of Elizabeth McGregor’s husband, who live nearby.
I have a few pictures of the Kelmans, and I may know some of the people in the pictures you have. I would love copies of them, if you don’t mind, and I could give you copies of the pictures I have. I would love a picture of the bible as well!
