Sorry to be this late acknowledging your message - thank you for taking the time. I have done some research into "Smiling Jim"including his death in 1945 whilst serving with Air Transport Auxiliary. He is my 4th cousin twice removed.I am not sure how your wife and I are related, but would love to know more.
