Hi Russell, I found your message very interesting. I have only begun research on my Kennedys but here is a hurried rough outline of what I learned from my mom and her cousins--and I have a lot of information from them to verify and document, although they had put together a great little booklet from older family members. The first person I know of in our line was a John Kennedy in Jackson County; he married Martha House before 1820. Most of the family I knew about was later in Gwinnett County and Henry Co. GA.
John's son John House Kennedy was born in 1821; William, b. between 1820 and 1821; Melvin, b. 1833 (Melvin got in trouble with the law in Georgia and I found him in Texas where he died), Edmond Leroy, b. 1828; Martha Evaline, b. 1836, Dicie, b. 1827. (She m. Elijah Phillips from Henry County). William Kennedy moved to Henry County and married Martha Wheeler. He was killed by a Mr. Ferguson and is buried at Turner's Church.Their son, Henry House Kennedy m. abt, 1876 Mary Virginia (Jennie)Lewis whose family lived in Stockbridge GA and their daughter Martha Jane Kennedy Holloway, b. 1878 was my mother's mother. She died in 1917 from results of childbirth. There were eight other children in Henry County and many descendants in Gwinnett Co..
Sorry, I have put this together very hurriedly.I have been working on my other families.Does any of this line sound like it might be connected? I have an appointment but would like to hear what you think.Julia
