Casper Kenreich to Phil, PA 1792
From a recent trip to the Lancaster County (PA) archives, I found some information of interest about Casper and Anna Kenreich.
1. Arrival Port and Date
Tepper, M. (1979). Emigrants to Pennsylvania, 1641-1819. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co.
List of Passengers on Board the Ship "Rainbow," Richard Salter, Master, from Amsterdam, September 7, 1792.
Casp Kuhnzick
Ann Kuhnzick
Cathnet Kuhnzick a child
While this is a variation on the spelling of Kenreich, Casper was married to Anna, and they had a daughter named Katherine. This date of arrival is also possible given that Casper is listed five years later on the 1797 tax records for Lancaster County (PA) and is listed one month later on the church attendance records for October 1792 in New Holland, PA.
2. Tax Paying in Lancaster County, PA
Tax records for Earl Township of Lancaster County indicated that Casper Kenreich (variously spelled Kenereis, Kenrich) paid taxes from 1797 to 1816. The end date of 1816 is consistent with later accounts that claim that Casper and his family moved to Ohio in 1817.
In 1803, the record notes that Casper transferred 11 acres of land and one horse to Cyrus Jacobs, an owner of a local forge. Thereafter, Casper is listed as an "Inmate," which means that he worked for someone else (perhaps Cyrus Jacobs) rather than for himself.
3. Church Records in New Holland, PA
Weiser, F. S. (1984). The lutheran church in New Holland, Pennsylvania, 1730-1980.
Records from the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Holland, PA (within Lancaster County) indicate church attendance, births, and baptisms, and marriages of Kenreichs. The spelling of Kenreich was Kuhnreich.

bapt. May 26, 1811
First Attendance Date:
October 21, 1792 (21st Sunday after Trinity)

This is consistent with the evidence that Caspar and his family arrived in the port of Philadelphia on Sept. 7, 1792.
Marriage of Casper and Anna's Daughter, Gertrude
Gertrud Kuhreich to Samuel Ulrich
