Daniel C. was born, 21 Mar 1868, son of Charles W. and Adelaide F. (Purdy) Kenyon. Charles and Adelaide had the following children: Louie A. (Tomah, WI); Daniel Charles (Chinook, MT); Cora (Mrs. William Heser, Tomah, WI); Edward W. (Unity, WI).
When he was four years old, Daniel C. was brought west to Greenfield, Monroe County, WI, where he was educated and graduated from Sparta High School. Daniel learned telegraphy so he was able to secure a job as station agent and telegraph operator for the Chicago,Milwaukee, and St. Paul Railroad at Dexterville, WI. He remained there three years and at Junction City, WI, five years.Failing health caused him to seek other work and he sold life insurance for some months.In May 1898, he came to Malta, MT, and entered the service of the Great Northern Railroad but after six months he left and became proprietor of the Malta House for two years.On 1 Jan 1900,Daniel bought the Malta Enterprise and edited it for 3 years. Meanwhile, he had entered a homestead near Malta and occupied it until it was proved up.He sold the newspaper he went to work for the railroad. Later he was in the insurance business, elected first treasurer of Blaine County, MT, studied law and was admitted to the bar, 5 Jul 1915, Helena, MT., was US Land Commissioner, 1916 elected mayor of Chinook, MT.
On 14 Dec 1896, Stevens Point, WI, Daniel married Miss Anna Elizabeth Scott, born 1872, Stevens Point.Kenyon children: Lloyd Scott (Chinook, MT); Grace (Chinook); Dorothy Ann (Chinook)
