Patti,
Benjamin Kepner Jr. and Nancy Cade are my ggg grandparents. They move to Fountain Co, Indiana with Nancy's brother William Cade and his family. They appear in the 1830 Fountain Co., IN census and are documented in a History of Fountain Co. book in the Indianapolis State Archives and Allen Co. Public Library in Fort Wayne, IN as pioneers. I have also visited their graves in Fountain Co. Benjamin Kepner Jr. was born about 1798 in Brunswick Twp, Schuylkill Co. PA; moved to Pickaway Co., OH with his parents; married Nancy Cade (born 8 Mar 1803 in Pickaway Co. OH, dau. of Richardson Cade and Sarah Robbins Cade). Benjamin was known for having religious tent camp meetings on his farm (see history book). He and Nancy had 8 children- four were deaf and mute. I am descended from their youngest son Andrew (born about 1837 in Fountain Co., IN), who married Mary Jane Barker (born about 1833 in Decatur Co., IN, daughter of Daniel Barker and Elizabeth Myers Barker). Benjamin Kepner Jr. died about 1839 and is buried in the Cade-Patton Cemetery in Fountain Co. Nancy Cade Kepner remarried to John Long and had one son, Wesley, about 1843. She died soon after his birth. In a book in the Des Moines, Iowa state archives by a Rev. Sayler (Saylor?-another descendant of Benjamin Kepner Sr. and Maria Elizabeth Huebsche) he states Elizabeth Kepner died 28 Oct 1828 and is buried in the Sayler Cemetery, Marion, OH. She lived with her married daughter (Sayler) and her family. I think the family members living with Elizabeth in the 1820 Pickaway Co. census include some of the Saylors and may not be Benjamin and Nancy.
Are we distant cousins?
Jacque
