Sorry I have taken so long to respond. Having children of my own has made genealogy an afterthought until recently. Would very much like to share information. Recently discovered William Collard married Rachael Brooke (of Gov. Brooke's direct line) and had one daughter, Elizabeth. Trying desperately to prove this connection to Francis Kerby, as the Brooke family is very well recorded in Prince George's County Maryland and throughout the various colonial societies of Maryland. Whether Francis Kerby is William or Richard's son is still an issue, though Richard looks more likely right now. Richard may be connected to the Baltimore family, but I have no proof at this time. What amazes me is how the connection to the Brooke family could have been misplaced by my wife's aunt Thorne. Clearly, the Brooke heritage is too good to ignore, but my wife says there was bad blood after her line intermarried with the low-bred Websters and Pyles of the area. Maybe there was a serious rift. Anyway, my wife's uncle still lives in Prince George's on a much smaller section of the old family land, which is not connected to the Harmony Hall piece which was only in the possesion of Francis Kerby for a short time before the tax office assumed it. It would seem Francis had poor fortune before his early demise and leaving the orphans. It is hard to say what happen to make his in laws so distant, but we can only speculate.
