I can't find George Kerr in any census before the 1900 census where he appears with his wife, Sally.

Conner, born Morgonton, Tennessee, and Edna Kerr, born Morgonton, Tennessee.Alma was married, but her husband's name is not given, although the informant for the personal details is Wm.
