James Richard Kerwick (gr-gr-fr) b. 10 May 1842 in Co. Kilkenny, IE mar. Annie Maria McGlue b. abt. 1850 Wavertree, Lancashire, Eng. on 7 Mar 1869 at St. Mary's Lowe House, St. Helens, Lancashire, Eng. Annie was the daughter of James Neville and Frances Gammage McGlue.She had two brothers, James Neville McGlue b. 1847 and Charles Neville McGlue b. 1852, both b. in Wavertree. James and Annie Maria Kerwick had 6 children: Richard b. 20 Nov 1870, d. 26 Sep 1874 St. Helens, Lancs. James Christopher b. 13 Dec 1872, d. 1 Oct 1874 St. Helens Joseph James Richard b. 2 Feb 1876 St. Helens (gr-fr) James William b. 2 Aug 1878 St. Helens Thomas Charles b. 11 Feb 1882, d. 11 Nov 1882 St. Helens Margaret Alice b. 29 Apr 1884 St. Helens James came to Brooklyn and enlisted in the US Navy after 1884. Annie Maria d.30 Jan 1889 in St. Helens. Joseph, James and Margaret went to live with their grandmother and step grandfather, Frances and James Conway in St. Helens. James Kerwick married Rose Keenan and settled in Binghamton, Broome Co., NY, and they sent for the three children. James and the three children changed their names to Kerwin. James died on 22 Apr 1910 in Binghamton. Joseph Kerwin married Margaret Agnes Moran on 1 Sep 1903 in Binghamton, NY.She was born abt. 1876 a daughter of Patrick and Margaret Kane of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., PA.Their only child, Donald Charles Kerwin, Sr., my father, was born on 14 Sep 1904 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. O'Kerwick is O'Ciarmhaic in Gaelic.I have a copy of the O'Ciarmhaic coat of arms.
