C. SOLOMON KESSINGER II
Solomon II was born about 1773 in Lancaster County, in the British Colony of Pennsylvania.He was the third oldest child of 11 children born to Solomon Kessinger I (Old Sol) and Elizabeth (Greenwald), both of German ancestry. He was 6 years old in 1778, when he, and 5 of his siblings, accompanied his parents on their journey down the Ohio River by flatboat, to the Kentucky territory.Solomon II married Elizabeth “Betsy” Logsdon on July 2, 1793 in Hardin Co., Kentucky.(She was born in 1777 in Pennsylvania; and died in 1857.)They had 13 children, all of whom were born in Kentucky. Solomon II was a farmer.He died on October 15, 1857, and was buried at Glen Butler’s farm in Hart County, Kentucky.

In 1850, Mary A. is listed as head of household in Grayson Co., .Kentucky;while Jacob, and his son Josiah, were with Jacob'sfather, Solomon II,in Hart Co., Kentucky.
