I am not researching this person and I know nothing else about the person.My mother and her father kept newspaper clippings.I am posting them in hopes of helping others.
Doctor Oscar C. Kessler, son of Henry C. Kessler and Mary H. Kessler, was born Aug. 19, 1860, in the state of Illinois.
He was united in marriage to Louisa Jane Birdsell Feb 3, 1897, at Ravenwood, Mo.
He entered medical college when a young man and practiced medicine continuously for 50 years.
He was a member of the Christian Church at Elkland and the I.O.O.F. lodge of Elkland and Rebekah Lodge of Elkland.
Dr. Kessler had been active in his practice of medicine until two weeks before his passing.
Dr. Kessler and wife had lived in Ravenwood, Mo., previous to moving to Dallas County, (MO) 20 years ago.
They moved to Elkland six years ago and have resided there since then.
He is survived by his wife, Louisa Jane Kessler, one brother, Johiah Kessler.He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two sisters, Ollie Sanders and Nancy Teague and one brother, Joseph Carl Kessler.He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
He had been a member of the Christian Church and the above named lodges since a young man.
Funeral services were conducted at the Elkland Christian Church Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2:00 p.m. by Rev. V.R. Walker. Burial followed in Macedonia Cemetery under auspices of Elkland I.O.O.F. and direction of L. B. Jones
