The above is ABSOLUTELY NOT my Rice Tyler, but for years, others in the family thought he was, and it has caused major confusion. In fact, it wasn't until I was able to identify and document the above man (who is actually Royce Benedict Tyler 1809-1880), that I was able to convince a few family members of the error. I have lots of info on my Rice and the above Royce and their descendants, and though I have the ancestry of Royce, I still don't know parents of my Rice.
My Rice Tyler was in Michigan in 1840; he married the first time, shortly after that, had three children by the first wife; and then just before 1850 census, he married Clarrisa/Clarissa/Claricca LNU (we have some speculation about her ancestry, but are not sure).
My Rice was back and forth between Bennington County, Vermont (Shaftsbury and Bennington), and Livingston and Ingham Counties in Michigan.
I will let you know if I ever get a break on this.
