I think we may be from the same "clan." I left Cleveland in 1948 to Vaiden, Mississippi.I joined the Marine Corps in January, 1950 and retried June, 1972.I then went to work for the Customs Service for 22 years and completely retired in June, 1995.My father, Meek, lived in Cleveland until he died in 1958-1959.I was overseas in Tiawan, when he died, I barley made it back, in time for his funeral. After joining the Marines, I very seldom returned to Mississippi.
I had a brother, Everett Dean Kiker who lived in Greenwood, MS.He moved to Pensacola many years ago and died here about three years ago.I helped take care of him the last days of his life.He has one daughter name Betty, who also lives nearby.
There is a James Kiker living here in Pensacola, FL.He, and my brother Dean, were partners in a junkyard business here.James is my cousin and recently moved here from Hollandale, MS. He owns farmland there but now has it leased out. Also, His Brother Jack lives in the Destin, FL area. They both have children living in this area. Before I left for the Marine corps, I used to visit with them quite often. Now, they live only a couple of miles away from me.
I also remember an Uncle who lived EAST of Cleveland.I'm not sure of his name.I think it was Jeff. The last I recall (1950), he had two daughters and two sons.He and all his children were fairly tall; if I remember correctly. One of his daughters visited us in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was with my Father, Aunt Lucy (Aunt lucy was one of twins)and I when we moved back to Mississippi in 1947.I remember she had really curly hair, but can't remember her name. She had a really happy personality.Lately, I find my memory is not like it used to be.I will talk to James and see if he can jog my memory some.
