I work as curator of Stafford County Museum at Stafford, Kansas. A scrapbook was recently brought in which was owned by Minnie Frankenfield Simpson and dated 1905. In this scrapbook, besides hundreds of clipped poems from the KC Star and other papers, is some interesting family information. Included are:
six pages of a handwritten letter by Angeline (Kilborn) Heylman, Kansas City, about 1834 or so.
typed obit of Angeline (Kilborn) Heylman from Ralston Herald, Aug. 29, 1912, written by her nephew, J.W. Kilborn.
short obit notice of Lovina Heylman dated Aug. 23, 1912.
obit of Dr. W.R. Heylmun, probably Angeline's son.
Obit of J.W. Heylman/Heylmun, dated 1919.
55th Anniversary story of J.W. Heylmun/Heylman, dated Nov. 1, 1908.
Some unidentified photos of a girl and women.
Obit notices for Mrs. A. Frankenfield, 1926; Mrs. Ira Coyne, 1927.
Four hand-written poems, probably copied by Minnie Frankenfield. These poems are by Mrs. J.W. Heylman; Lovina A. (Kilborn) Heylman, dated 1832, copied 1911; J.W. Heylman, dated Lycoming, April 23, 1854; and another by Lovina Kilborn, Canton, June 15, 1852.
Some miscellaneous Frankenfield, Simpson clippings.
These items are now in our museum library. We can copy and mail these to any family member for $5.50 plus $1.00 postage.
