I am an ancestor of Joseph Kilbey and according the information I have been able to gather so far, he was born in Flamstead (Herts), just south of Luton, in 1794. It appears that he moved to Offley early in his life. I do not yet have the exact date of his birth or baptism. Joseph Married Sarah Marlow on 6 July 1816 at Offley Parish Church and one of the witnesses was William Marlow.
I am decended through his son Samuel Kilbey and have details of the family history for most of the direct line of Samuel Kilb(e)ys to present time. I am newish to this and so I have tended to follow a straight line ancestry rather than expanding too much. You are welcome to this information, but it will take a while for me to put it together, so if you have any specific preferences please let me know. Suffice it to say that many of the descendants lived in the Offley, Iffley, Stopsley and Luton areas up until the 1970'. Several ancestors were involved in the hat industry, but many were agricultural labourers and/or general/coporation labourers.
I have no records of a Charles Kilbey being born to Joseph and Sarah. I'll look into the William, George and Isaac connections.
