On what basis do you state that Johanna Kilbee married Joshua Lewis? This is a probablility, but I have found no evidence of it.
Christopher Kilbee, of Middlesex County (son of William Kilbee, grandson of Christopher Kilbee, emigrant) married Catherine LEWIS in Middlesex on 1 January, 1719 (new style). This couple did have a daughter Joanna, born there nine months to the day on 27 October 1719.There is no further record of this daughter.
Christopher Kilbee moved to Isle of Wight County, NC in 1736 where he has many transactions with the Lewis's, including Joshua Lewis. He wrote his will there on 9 FEB 1741/42.
Christopher Kilbee's was living in Northampton Co., NC by 1744, and his will was written there in May of 1752.It names unmarried daughters Frances, Sarah and Elizabeth, and sons Christopher and Epaphroditus. No daughter Joanna--Kilbee, Lewis, or otherwise--is named in this will.
Of course this does not necessarily mean she was dead.Leading me to my original question, on what evidence do you base the marriage of Joshua Lewis to Joanna Kilbee?
