Hi Rebecca.I am Rebecca's Grandfather and I might add some information here.My great grandfather was Dennis W. Kiley born in Ireland (Cork?)and came to Michigan about 1850 he married Mary Sawney (or Sauney or Soverine)in Detroit in 1854 they went throughout Michigan working on the Railroad. He finally bought a farm and settled in Standish, Arenac county. His son John W. Kiley also worked on the railroad. He married Gertrude Smith in Lapeer in 1895. About 1900 they moved to Monroe where he was the Trackmaster. The story I heard form my Uncle was that Dennis and his two brothers came to Michigan together. There are several early Kileys (around 1850)in MIchigan.I have not been able to establish any relationship between them. Two of the names I have looked at as possible brothers were Thomas in Bay City area and Patrick in Detroit.Somewhere there is information. Does this ring a bell with anyone. Ron KIley
