Hi Moira,
I may have found something for you.
Go to:
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~abwcobit/Data/Papers/1918C/Obits1918CPage14.htmlhttp://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~abwcobit/Data/Papers/1918C/Obits1918CPage14.html
They have a listing of a George Kilgour died 1918 Calgary. They say you can receive a copy of the article for $5.00
As this would be an obituary it may contain helpful info for you.
Here is what they have as listing for him. I found this by googling George Kilgour Calgary
1918 Calgary Herald - OBITUARIES -Note originals hard to read and different articles may give different ages at death which is why some people appear more then once.
NAME Died At or From Born About
M- KILGOUR, George Beddington 1892
............................................................
In my family we also have a George Kilgour (born 1895 Scotland). He keeps coming up when I look for yours.
I am starting to think your George may have come to Canada by first going to the U.S. as I have tried to find him in the Canadian records - which are pretty good for the time he should have arrived.
I also looked for a marriage for Ethel Kilgour in B.C. in case she remarried. I did not find her but the records only go to 1924 so she may have married after that? or in Calgary?
So I have not been able to find much more for you.
Carolyn L.
