First Killip Emmigrations

Just wondering, as a sideline to family tree stuff, who were the earliest emmigrants from the Isle of Man to USA/Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Larry's ancestor Thomas would appear to be the first who migrated to NZ in 1876 - unless anyone else knows different.
Thomas Killip emigrated to Illinois in 1860 followed by his brother Boyer a few years later - but there were already other Killips in USA by this time.
There were Killips exiled to Australia for minor crimes in the Isle of Man before 1800 - did theyhave families?
Any contributions - earlier claims etc?
Has anyone found a common ancestor/close links for any of the Killip and Killips branches in County Down and Killop/Killops in Scotland?
