Hi Clinton, If you are like me then you probably grew up with very few other Killip's around you apart from family. This makes us special I reckon plus it makes it fairly easy to suss where we came from. The name Killip possibly is derived from McPhillip, the "mac" turning into a "K". Fact of the matter is, the KILLIP nameis definitly from the Isle Of Man between England and Ireland. I have material including "Killip's" as far back as the 1500 - 1600's. First a lot went to Liverpool UK in the 1800's and from there migrated out to Australia, New Zealand (strong Killip clan here where I live, all from one ancestor) also Rochester New York has it's fair share. I communicate with Killip's in Arkansas, not immediatly related but I sometimes wonder! a trait it seems to me is blondeish hair when young turning mousy later, and blue eyes.
I might be wrong there but I have seen quite a few Killip's like that, more than enough to get me thinking. Plenty of Killip's here with straight black hair and brown eyes so it's just a guess on my part.
