I hear there are quite a few Killip lines in Rochester, NY. Personally, I haven't run into any but my own. So I'd be quite interested to learn more about the history of Killips in Rochester! My great-great grandparents were first generation born in the US/Canada.
John T. Killip b.1853 NYd.1891 NY Father's Birthplace: Isle of Man Mother's Birthplace: Isle of Man
John had three sisters: Eliza (his twin), Lillian and Catherine.
John married Margaret (Maggie) L. Pope in 1879 in NY
Maggie L. Killip (Pope) b.1855 CANd.1891 NY Father's Birthplace: Ireland Mother's Birthplace: Ireland
John and Maggie's surviving children:
Arthur John Killipb.1885 NY d.1947 (My great-grandfather) Harry B. Killipb.1889 NYd.1928
I was hoping to trace my family beyond my great-great grandparents. My line must have immigrated sometime before 1853. Can anyone suggest a good place to start my search? Thanks! -Kim
