I have been working on my Kilpatrick line out of Sumter/Darlington SC for some time and would like to post some of the information that I have in hopes other family descendants will recognize a name and also add their post.
Elizabeth Hurst, daughter of Isaac and Priscilla Marle Hurst, married William Kilpatrick in either Sumter or Darlington County SC. They had the following children whose names have been derived from both Isaac and Priscilla's respective Wills and Estate Records, as well as verifiable census records. Jimmie (or Tiney) who married James Elliott; Mary who married Thomas Mathis; Easler; John; Jesse; Warry; Robert (believed to be William Robert); also two names are missing from the records, Noah Powell Kilpatrick and Sarah Ann Kilpatrick (who married Ivy Cadenhead). William and family are found in Kershaw County SC in 1820, Noah was born About 1819 They moved from SC to Barbour/Pike Counties in Alabama sometime around the mid 1820's. Both William and Elizabeth were deceased before 1845 when Priscilla's estate was settled amongst the heirs. Also, daughter Mary Mathis was also deceased. Noah married Levinia Kimbro Robinson, a widow, and they had their family in Covington County and a brief stay in Walton County Florida. Noah's son William, was married several times. His son,Allen Franklin Kilpatrick, was my grandfather. My grandfather and his sister Saphronia were adopted as small children by the William and Gertrude McCullough family in Walton County. They remained with the McCullough's until they married and had families of their own but they never changed their names. William was married to a Sarah Cauthen, and the McCullough's had a brother-in-law enumerated in one of the 1910 census named George Cauthen. I am hoping someone in the Cauthen family will be able to make a connection as to the relationship of the two families. William and Levinia also had a son Isaac D. Kilpatrick who married Martha Aplin.
