I am related to Emery Clark McDaniel who married Lena Agnes Allen 8 Jan 1908 in Hardman, Morrow, Oregon. They had two children, Cecil Eveline and Thelma Allen, when he died.Cecil died shortly thereafter.Lena then remarried Fred Bartmess in 1919. Thelma is my grandmother and married Louis Peterson 14 May 1933.She died 6 May 2001 at the age of 90.
I also have the names of the spouses of William and Elizabeth’s eight children who lived to adulthood, and their approximate marriage dates, but none of their children. And of course I have more information and family on Emery and Lena because that’s the line I come through.Right now I’m transcribing Lena’s poems. She even has some poems about Emery and her cowboy/cowgirl days. She said he was the “handsomest of men.”My aunt also said that Lena kept in touch with William and Elizabeth after Emery died, and that they were very kind. She also told me that the day Emery and Lena got married, they went back to William and Elizabeth’s house and did some canning. I have pictures of William and Elizabeth if you’re interested.Sorry this is so lengthy.I guess I’m a little excited.
