Kinnaird YDNA
In recent months, we have had two swabbings done of Kinnaird DNA.One for Alexander Kinnaird and one for Montgomery Kinnaird, his grandfather.Alex's father was long thought to be native American, but through DNA we have learned that his father was a Julian. In 1836, there were two Julian families living across the Gainsboro Grade Road in Jackson Co. TN.Alex was born in 1838.We are now in the process of fingering the guilty culprit, but we know that Alex's heritage now goes back to Rene Julian b. 1660.The 12 marker results are in for Montgomery Kinnaird, and we have no matches.I feel that is because not enough Kinnairds have been tested. We chose to use Family Tree Maker DNA and so far there are only six swabbings under the name KENNARD.It does not matter how you spell your name...and it is a very simple process. If you pool your money the cost is minimal. You order the kit online, they mail it to the address you indicate, you take the swabbings and mail it back to the lab.Alex's DNA was taken from his last surviving grandson, a man in his 80's.Montgomery's DNA comes from a young grandson in Colorado. If you have male Kinnaird descendant's and and have hit that proverbial "brick wall", please consider doing a swabbing. If you have questions, please email me at [lindasue@sc.rr.com].
