Albert H. Kirchner, the son of Frank and Elizabeth Frandrup Kirchner, was born on February 1, 1909 in Fulda, Minnesota. He grew up near Fulda and attended St. Gabriel's Catholic School. Albert was united in marriage to Rosella Kelley on January 24, 1939 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy, MN. After their marriage they made their home west of Fulda and raised their five children. Albert farmed and was active in custom farming in the area. On November 28, 1975 they retired from farming and moved into Fulda. Albert passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at his home in Fulda at the age of 98. He was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was a past member of the Wirock Elevator Board and the Bondin Township Board. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings on the television.
Survivors include his wife, Rosella of Fulda, MN; five children and their spouses, LaVerna and Jerome Olsem of Fulda, MN, James Kirchner of Marshall, MN, Dorothy and Gerald Helget of Sleepy Eye, MN, Kathleen Wolf of North Mankato, MN and Anthony and Kathy Kirchner of Sioux Falls, SD; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and one sister, Bernadine Flynn of Windom, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, Joe, Frank, Art, Clarence, Henry, Bernard, Walter and Lawrence Kirchner and one sister, Elizabeth Kirchner.
Funeral services were held at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 with Fr. Bob Horihan officiating. The organist was Mary Ann Boom. The song leader was Brittney Wall. The pallbearers were Lawrence Kirchner, Donald Kirchner, Duane Kirchner, Melvin Kirchner, Brandon Kirchner and Gene Kirchner.
