In answer to your question as to the origin of the name Kissee, there are two theories.
One, that Keesee was/is German for cheese.
Since they came to America to escape religious persecution, they came from an area of Germany near France, so they came to USA with the Huguenots, who were also being persecuted.This theory is from Dr. Vincent Keesee's book, A History of The Keesee Family.
The other version is the one that is believed by most other Kissee/Keesee/Kazee/Kozee/Kizzie descendants and that is:
That Jacques La Caze (It is thought that there were several brothers, but none documented) a Huguenot, came to VA and his name was Americanized to Case, or Kazee, etc;
From VA the Kissee's went to all parts of the world.My ancestors came from KY, then to MO, then to CA, arriving here in the 1850's.
There is an entire group that I belong to that has over 300 members just researching Kissee and all the variations.
You can access the web site at: www.keesee.org
We all try to help each other find links to their particular branch of the Keesee/Kissee tree. Since the name is quite unusual, we all feel that we are connected to Jacques LaCaze and his brothers.
