It's so nice to hear from a cousin in the Hamblet-Kittle line.I have some material I can share, and I have some questions.
Do you know when Alford and Emily (Kittle) Hamblet died and where they are buried?
Have you any information passed down in your family about Emily's parents and about Alford's mother?
My family information seems to have gotten scrambled with the passage of time.We thought Alford's mother was Annie Van Curen, but Hamblet and Graves researchers are firm on the identity of his wife as Anna Graves.Do you know, and if she was Anna Graves, is there any Van Curen connection at all?
We thought that Emily's parents were Griswold Kettle/Kittle and Angeline Phelps.Based on the 1850 Federal Census and the marriage records of Steuben Co., IN (second marriage for a widow, Harriet Kittle), I'm quite sure Emily's mother was Harriet, and I'm less sure that Harriet was the daughter of Griswold Phelps and Rhoda Squier.I've been trying to establish that connection for some time.Mr. Kittle's given name remains unknown, for he died, or otherwise left the scene, in the mid-1840s.
I'll write to you at your e-mail address soon to offer you one or more reports on the Phelps case I'm trying to put together.I also have two scanned photos:one of Emily, very old, and one of Alford and Emily.
I've also gotten together some details on Naomi Glover's parents.Do you have any information on the Glover-Hadley line?
Hope to hear from you soon.
