In South Carolina Naturalizations, 1783-1850, Federal Records, Page 41, shows a John Klinck who was born in Germany, naturalized American citizen, 1/19/1824. (Federal Records, vol. 9, p. 324) I had not seen the 1860 census records. Looking at the ages of the individuals in the household, perhaps Henrietta is the wife of John, Jr.Since George is listed separately with a NY birthplace, maybe he was a nephew or other relative who came to live with the family? Sarah Henderson Irby is too young to be the mother of the children listed here. She might be a second wife since there is no wife listed in the census records. I was interested to see the brother, Theodore, since my John Klink had a daughter Theodora, grandaughter Theodora, and great granddaughter Theo.If I find more info or a connection with your NY Klinck's I'll post it here.
