It is believed by myself that Johan Ludwig Kling, who was born in Wurttemberg Germany 15 Nov.1772 and died at Sharon New York who was buried on Lot 43 of Borst-Greslaer patent on file in Schoharie County's record roomwas not the son of Henrick Kling, but was instead the son of Johan Georg Kling who was born about 1703 in Germany. It was Johan Georg Kling who bought lot 43with 150L cash, and it later became the property of Johan Ludwig Kling who sold it to his son John George Kling.
Another interesting thing you might want to research was there was a Henreck Kling who's name disappeared from the records shortly before the Revolution. He was married to a Catharina Sternberg in the Reformed Church of Stone Arabia, who bought the lot directly across from Lot 43.This lot was Lot 13 Patent of Durlach.
There was a Henreck Kling and wife Catharina Sternberg, who had sons on the same names as the ones who were born in New York who appeared in Louisiana about the time of the Revolution. Many of the Klings in the south have descended from them, and I believe he is one and the same Henreck which Margaret Kling thought was the father of our Johan Ludwig Kling.
My name is Norman Kling and I live in Alpine Ca.I descended from Johan Ludwig Kling through his son John George Kling, Peter Kling, Stephan Kling, George S. Kling and Loren J. Kling.
About 1992 I met with John Luther Kling who lived in Amsterdam,New YorkHe was a Descendant of Nicholas Kling and he was a native who lived in the area all his life, he had even farmed the property of Lot 43, and showed me where the graves of many of the ansesters including the actual grave of Johan Ludwig Kling on Lot 43.Unfortunately, he has passed away but a book of his compilations was published and might be on file at the Geneological Library at Fonda New York. His brother Herbert had copies available and it was through him that I got a copy.I don't know if Herbert is still living.I have several letters from John Luther Kling in my possesion. He did extensive study.
I have a question of you.Do you or anywne you know know where in Wurtemberg the Klings came from?Wurttemburg is a very large province in Germany.I met a Heinrick Kling at Schresham which is about 10 miles north of Heidleberg, He had many names in his family line similar to ours, but didn't go back as far as 1755.
