Hi Leon I went to the Family Record Office in London and we found on the 1891 census, quite by chance, a Stephen Knapper with a wife: Harriet Rowbotham and two children. They were living at 12 Long Row, Wolstanton. We found this while we were looking for 76 Long Row, in a previous email you said that a Samuel lived there with a son Stephen. I have found out that Samuel is my Stephen's father. I ordered a copy of Stephen's birth certificate which confermd this. I have also found out that Stephen had 8 other brothers and sisters. Stephen's father, Samuel was born in 1827 was married to Mary Ann. From other information I have, it would seem that Samuel's father was George who was married to Sarah. Samuel had a younger brother William (b 1829) and an older sister Sarah (b 1825), I believe that he might have also had more brothers and sisters but it is not shown on the 1841 census. I may be competly wrong but it all fits right! Do you have any more info?
