I have traced the Kneebone name back to 1537 with Johanis Knebone all his children had foreign names they lived at Botus Fleming Cornwall I would imagine they were Huguenots probably came to the UK to trade and decided to stay as it was a lot safer for them. In fact the brother to Johanis Knebone who's name was Thomae had a son called Hugonus Knebone, gradualy they moved around and one E became two Es maybe a spelling mistake in a registration, all can be traced via the LDS site, you can check the line out at our website http://www.our-life.co.ukhttp://www.our-life.co.uk
