Thank you so much for your research. However did you gather all this information? My mother does not know anything about her grandmother Laura and to our knowledge there are no living relatives to give us the genealogy or history. What is interesting about genealogy - at least with my family - was when my husband and I moved to Muscoda 16 years ago, it was to an area we knew little to nothing about and had no relation.Fresh start so to speak.A few years back I received a box that has pictures, newspaper clippings and a scrapbook that just showed up at my mother's house. After investigating the box, I discovered through my neighbor, that one I was related to her and that I was related to quite a few people in the area. Was this a quirk that we moved here or God's hand?
I found it rather interesting that the Kneeland name was also listed as Nelan according to the US Census back in 1880.Do you think this was because they didn't speak English and this was how our country listed their last name upon entering the country or this is how the name is supposed to be spelled?
Thank you so much for your information. It will truly help me figure out my past.Thank you.Tami
