Dear Thomas,
I have this on Casper Schieffer (sorry about the alternate spelling...I didn't have my family sheets with me when I wrote you)...Casper Schieffer was born in 1822 in Cologne, Germany. He died Sept. 16 1906.He and Agnes are buried in Menominee, Nebraska.Agnes Kneifl Schieffer was born July 12, 1837,in Baden, Austria, near Vienna. We have found that the Kneifls came from Bohemia originally. There is a complicated story of who came to the U.S. when, but I found the entire family except for Martin, who had left for the U.S. a year earlier, in a book of Czech immigrants. They came to the U.S. in 1855 or 1866 (again I am going from memory) and settled in Wisconsin.I can send more to you, and I will use your E-Mail to do it.I do not have much on Casper, but this family is one which I and my sister are researching, so there will probably be more to send you.I have some pictures, not many, but I will be glad to get them to you if you do not have them.If you have any info on Jacob and Theresa, the parents, or any pictures, perhaps we can exchange some.Could you send me the information about your wife's connection to the Schieffers?I am looking forward to corresponding with you about Agnes and Casper and their family.I am sending this by this post because it was handier at the moment and I must run out to school to help with concessions for our football playoffs. School is really keeping me busy right now.I will be glad to do what I can.Judy
