Dear Ronda:I uncovered this little article from the Newcastle Times that I thought you might enjoy. It concerns your great-grandfather Joseph Kneifl, and is dated June 13, 1895."Joe Kneifl and Tim O'Connor 'came together' at the railroad bridge Sunday and for a few seconds the air was so full of fists, feet, arms, legs, and so forth that it was difficult to determine who was the best man. However the dust and commotion soon subsided sufficiently to enable the onlooking throng to size up Tim as the knocked out.Joe was the 'champeen' of Newcastle."I've always liked those little stories in the local section of that newpaper. It's too bad so much of it burned in that 4th of July fire that destroyed so much of the town.I have a picture of Pete Kneifl, probably a graduation picture, and one of Hildegard, too.I copied into my family pages the information from Pete Kneifl's Martin Kneifl Family History.I would appreciate any information about your particular family if you could send it to me.All I have is the names of your parents, their birth and marriage dates, your sisters and brothers and your birth dates.I'd like your mother's parents' names, and any other information such as where your parents were married, where you all were born, etc.Could you supply that information for me?Also, do you have e-mail?Sometimes it seems that the kind of information I am sending would be more appropriate for e-mail.However, I am quite content to correspond by GenForum; it is so easy to use.Write back when you can.Judy Kneifl Schrader.
