I would like to read it, Jonelle, but notice, none of those names showed up in Spartanburg Co, SC !At least, I never found those names on any Census record I've seen.
We know our Knightons loved the name: WILLIAM Knighton. My Green L. Knighton named TWO sons; WILLIAM. The McKnight's in 1790 & 1800 Spartanburg Co, SC Census were using the name WILLIAM, also. Did you check out the Census's that I posted on the McKNIGHT GenForum Board? (From Spartanburg Co, SC)?
Evidently, from the looks of the 1800 Spartanburg Co, SC Census; a THOMAS McKNIGHT; JOHN McKNIGHT & CHARLES McKNIGHT were possibly brothers.(They were all over 45 years old in 1800, so that would indicate they were all born before 1755).They were also on the 1790 "Old 96th District", SC Census along with a younger; WILLIAM McKNIGHT, who was probably a son of either Thomas or John McKnight. (William was living between Thomas & John on that one).
I just thought that maybe we could pursue the McKnights to see if it's possible they could be our Knighton ancestors. Alot of folks changed their names after arriving in the "New World" to make their names more Americanized. (Alot of the Irish folks dropped the Mc in their names).
