I have this, from a posting nearly 9 yrs ago, claiming Fanny's parents are from Virginia: http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.muhlenberg/188.8.131.52/mb.ashxhttp://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.muhlenberg/184.108.40.206/mb.ashx "Posted: 11 Jan 2002 4:39AM The info on Fanny is -- Frances Cox born 21 Oct 1794 Kentucky / Virginia - Married 11 Mar 1810 Kentucky - Died 23 Apr 1839 St. Louis, Jefferson county, Missouri -- Parents - Josiah / Joseph Cox born abt 1750 Virginia & Susan / Susanna Greenleaf born abt 1750 Virginia. The either / or is because I've seen it both ways. Let me know what you find and I'll do the same. You can email me at email@example.com or post here."
Another posting, which I've seen a number of times, citing LDS records, claims that Fanny's parents Josiah Cox/Susanna Greenleaf lived & died in New England, as did all the brothers & sisters -- This couple is listed in the The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, on p. 314.... To me, it seems unlikely that they correctly match our Fanny Cox who was born & was married in KY!
I HAVE been looking for a Joseph Cox though, because Ammon Knighten was an heir to Joseph Cox in 1839, the probable year of Fanny's death. See, "Ammon Knighten is named as an heir to Joseph Cox in Muhlenberg Court Records dated 1839. Ammon mar. Fannie CoxFeb. 1, 1810 in Muhlenberg Co." from http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.muhlenberg/74.1/mb.ashxhttp://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.muhlenberg/74.1/mb.ashx [This Joseph could be Fanny's father?]
Another interesting page, especially since our Fanny's kids share a few of these sibling names: "http://www.dmyroncox.com/coxfamily2/Dec_Reports/Dec_WilliamCoxeShort.pdf, p2 shows a Frances Cox b about1780, d/o John Cox Jr/Elizabeth. (Siblings Eli, Susannah, Nancy, John, Elizabeth & Lucretia; ancestors include Coxe and Cocke in VA & KY)"
How can I get a copy of Ammon's Bible record? I can offer a photo of his grave.
