Hi everyone I'm seeking further information on Samuel Knill, who, in 1849, worked as a servant in Ilfracombe, Devon. His daughter, Elizabeth Knill (1826-1883), married John Colwill (1825-1888), in Holy Trinity Parish Church, Ilfracombe, on 24th June, 1849. At this time, John Colwill was a sawyer. Elizabeth was born in Liskeard, Cornwall, and John's birthplace was Wear Gifford, Devon. In 1881, their address was 61A High Street (Railway Hotel), Ilfracombe, and John's occupation was then Hotel Keeper. The wording on Elizabeth's family headstone, in Holy Trinity Parish Church cemetery, Ilfracombe, reads:
SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF SAMUEL.SON OF JOHN AND ELIZABETH COLWILL. WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE MAY 14TH 1864 AGED 1 YEAR AND 8 MONTHS.
