My gggrandfather was Joseph Knisely of Greene Co. PA.He married a Rachel Shriver.They had 9 children. Joseph also married a Hannah Unknown and had at least one additional child.Joseph's father was John Kneisley.I obtained the following information about John.I have not rechecked the information.I hope this is helpful to you. No land record found but tax records in 1792 -John Nicely is listed and a line is drawn through his name.This indicates that he was in Greene Co., PA but had left the county and the name is crossed off.

Johnannes Kneisl aka John Knisely, was a shoemaker by trade.He apparantly performed some service during the Revolution, as he is listed as receiving a 20. annual pension as a veteran in Greene Co., from 1839 to 1843.
