I am wondering where my name comes from. One idea came to me when I searched in a german lexikon (enciklopaedia) where the relation from Knödl to Knoten (englisch knot) was drawn.
So my guess is that it means the one who makes knots. The question is, was it meant literally as a job, making nets for fishing for example or in the sense of someone who makes problems where other people see none.
I would like to know what other people know about the origin of this name.
My family tree comes from the Spielhof, Welzheim, Schwäbischer Wald, Germany, as far as I know it my grand-grand-father came from there.
