I recently found the following document among some old papers.It was written by Mary Kohrt, daughter of William Henry Kohrt, granddaughter of Frederick David Kohrt.Please use it however you like.

David Fredrick Kohrt (named for the first King of Prussia) was born some time in the late seventeen hundreds died at the age of 77.He was married three times and our ancestor was the only child of the third marriage.No record of the names of the other children.They lived in the village of Dahlmein, Province Brandenburg (called Bromberg), Prussia, now in Communist East Germany.This son, Fredrick David, was born April 11, 1822.He married Juliane Marie Catherine Post, who was born February 9, 1826.Frederick died March 14, 1889 - Juliane died September 16, 1884.Both buried in Woodlawn (formerly Maxin) Cemetery near Seneca, Illinois.Grandfather Joseph Post lived to be 89 and died in Germany.Fredrick's mother died at age of 67 in Germany.Fredrick and Juliane had six children who lived to ages of 80 and more.One little boy died at age of 3 months.
Frederick William Johan born in Germany September 6, 1852 - came to the U.S.-with his parents early in 1854.He died January 10, 1947 and was buried at Ottawa, Illinois.
William Henry was born in Chicago August 3, 1855 - died March 5, 1946 - buried at Rock Rapids, Iowa.
Augustus Charles was born in Chciago in 1857 and died December 27, 1943 - buried Marseilles, Illinois.
Henry Ludwig was born in 1861 - died January 30, 1946 - buried at Ransom, Illinois
Mary Elizabeth Catherine was born on February 28, 1864 - married Scott Sheedy - died on December 11, 1953 - buried at Seneca, Illinois.
David Christopher Fredrick was born near Marseilles in 1866 - died October 10, 1946 - buried at Rock Rapids, Iowa.
