Thank you so much for your reply. I spoke with my sister who spoke with my grandfather & we got more information. Heres what my sister wrote me:
It goes....James Lewis Kolts---Robert Douglas Kolts(our grandpa, my dad's dad)-- and I am currently finding out James Kolts' father name. That would be grandpa's grandpa our great-great grandpa.....
Then she wrote to me agian & said:
There was a judge in L.A. also named Robert Douglas Kolts when grandpa was young but we don't know if he was any relation at all.
Grandpas aunt was named Florence Kolts from Washington.
There were four brothers in Washington some stayed there one came to Aberdeen Ca. We have an Uncle Dick Kolts. I think that is grandpas uncle so our great-great uncle.
Great grandpa Lewis James Kolts, sold wood for a big lumber company.
Grandpa seems to think that our people come from LA but obviously these would be the later generations of Kolts and it's highly possible that they did come from the East coast or that their parents and grandparents did. He does not remember a lot and he does not know the name of his grandfather. Aunt Betty doesn't know either according to him. So I guess that is all the info we are going to get...... he also added that he belives there were a few Kolts's in LA in law enforcement during the 50's and 60's ( I am guessing that because he said that it was years ago when their kids were little) including the Judge I mentioned before.......
Also Suzanne my grandfather Robert Kolts did marry a Brown. He married Matti Brown who is now Matti Kolts...
I look forward to hearing from you! Heather Jane Kolts
