I am interested in information about the Jacob Kouns who has been a subject of discussion on this forum before. I have an excerpt from Early Families of (I think - hard to read my notes)Eastern KY. It says that Jacob Kouns came to KY in 1792 from Pennsylvania, was a man of some prominence in the community and was sheriff for several years. I also have a deed written after Jacob's death. It is dated 1820 and concerns the heirs of Jacob Kouns who were devisees of Peter Kouns. It lists Jacob's children several times in the text; they are given as Sarah, wife of Thomas Ward, late Sarah Kouns, John C. Kouns, Jacob Kouns, Joseph Davidson and Elizabeth his wife, late Elizabeth Kouns, Nathan Kouns, William Kouns, George W. Kouns, Miriam Kouns, Maria Kouns, and Amanda Kouns. Miriam apparently later married Archer Womack and Amanda married Mortimer Bostick. I would be interested in information about Jacob's history, his wife, etc, especially sources.
