I am looking for information about Andreas Krol, born in 1851, who came to America from Kleshchi,Grodno Russia now Belarus on May 05, 1893 at the age of 42y. on the passenger ship Marsala. My family goes back several generations from Pavlov Korol-(sons)Gerasium Pavlov Korol,Zakhariy Gerasium Korol,Konon Gerasuim Korol, Alexandr Gerasuim Korol and Takasiy Gerasium Korol all who remained in Kleshchi. Many of their children immigrated to America, as did Yakovs sons, Grigory, Cyprian, and Leon. And Zakhariys children, Andrian, Potop, Anna, Mark, Alexy. My grandfather was the son of Andrian, who came to America and was Eli Andiran Korol. Most immigrated in the early 1900's.Now I hope to learn more about "Andreas Krol"our surname has been spelled many differesnt ways here in America. From Korol, Karol, Carroll, Koral to Krol. The correct Russian spelling is Korol. I located Andreas Krol from the Ellis Island passenger search. It is noted he also came from Kleshchi, Russian. (Again the village is spelled different under his name, "Kalisch." )But Ellis Island does not give me enough information about him. I learned about the past generations of Korols from my travels to Belarus and the village Kleshchi. I visited the Archives in Minsk and Grodno for documentation. This area was once Poland! My grandfather only recalls it being Russia. He was born in 1888. Came to America in 1906. If any of these family members fit in please e-mail. I live in Illinois, but other family members now live in Mass. Conn. and NewYork, where the origianl family members immigrated and remained with their familys.
