Hello Manfred, sorry to butt in, I could not resist.
You may want to consult the "RietsTap's Armoral General" in you local Library. It will supply you with many Coat of Arms and its origin. There are also passenger lists of "Auswanderung" Hamburg/Bremen mid 1800 if you can get them. The name Krull (with umlaut) originates in Bayern. Krull (without umlaut)originates from Mecklenburg (Schwerin) about 1495. The survey says, there are about 10620+ Krull's, some 4500 in the US with the highest concentration in Iowa, and 5500 in Germany with the highest concentration in Saarland and below Hamburg. There is also Crul/Krul (French/Dutch). I do not know if there is a far away connection to Krull/Crull. Somehow the name Krull swings from Krull to Crull and back. Myself, I am 10th generation from Berend Krull (Crull?) + 1645 Loeningen Germany. My cousin traced the church books back to the St. Vitrus church in Loeningen. I find things a little sketchy around 1700. I suspect the Krull's (26 families/entities)in Amsterdam and surroudings are offspring from Bernd Joseph K. who came to Amsterdam in 1825. I notice there is a Betty Krull inquiring Re: Krull's from Loeningen. It would be nice to know who she is and where she lives (i.e. is she related to Loeningen??).
